Our Shuffler

Hi again,

Another hectic week at Redhand we have signed a contract with Plymouth Argyle and will be displaying two 40ft banners at all the home games as well as an advert in the game programme for every home game this season. This has entailed getting our banners made to the correct size and shape for the football club, and this is no mean feat. The first home game is Tuesday the 10th and we need to get them up for the Monday.

As well as trying to sort out the signs we have had some fantastic news regarding tournaments that we will be offering this year and next, we will now have tournaments where you can win seats at the Worls Serise of Poker(WSOP), World Poker Tour(WPT), European Poker Tour(EPT) and the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour(GUKPT). The tournaments are not yet loaded on the site so keep an eye on the tournament tab >specials and remember "You heard it here first!".

Well as promised i will tell you a bit about our shuffler,

We’re convinced that our card shuffling system is the best one out there. In fact, we’re so convinced that we built an online poker room around it.

Our "Quantum Photon Shuffler" is essentially an unpredictable, scientifically- proven quantum-mechanical process inside a special, impregnable, 'hack-proof' “black box”.

All online casinos use an RNG, but not all RNGs are the same. Of course, for security reasons, we can’t tell you exactly how ours works; but we can give you an idea:

1.At the start of every game, the table asks for a freshly shuffled deck.

2.The Shuffler requests a clean set of random data from the RNG.

3.The RNG generates purely random data using the simple yet highly reliable and secure mathematical representation of the statistically random behavior of photons (particles of light) when fired through a half-mirror – or a mirror which allows only 50% of all light to be reflected while the other 50% passes through. As it is impossible to tell whether a photon will pass through or be reflected, the resulting data is a totally random string of ones and zeros, or binary code.

4.Just to be sure, the Shuffler monitors the output of the RNG for randomness.

5.If the data is clean, the string of code is translated into a freshly shuffled deck.

6.This process is repeated again on the shuffled deck - i.e. a double shuffle.

7.The cards are then sent along a secure, encrypted line to the table – a freshly double-shuffled deck.

8.Before each card is dealt out, a re-shuffle of the remaining cards takes place. This means that each dealt card has been randomly drawn from a freshly reshuffled deck, each and every time.

9.And so on, until the game is over and the next one begins. This process of continuous shuffling is a measure of added protection to ensure the highest level of randomness and security that can be obtained.

A unique system:

•It is impossible for player actions to influence the cards.

•It is impossible to predict future cards.

•As all the shuffled data is sent along a secure, encrypted line, it is impossible to intercept card data

•Hole cards are only visible to the players that hold them. Even our floor manager cannot see what you are holding until the game is finished.

•The design is simple and therefore failsafe.

•The “black box” shuffler is itself set within a totally secure system.

◦The only thing which can enter our shuffler is a secure, coded request for a freshly shuffled deck of cards.

◦The only thing which can come out of our shuffler is a shuffled deck of cards.

And on top of this our system is checked regularly to prove its integrity by ID Quantique SA in Geneva Switzerland, so I hope that puts your mind at ease!

We hope to see you soon at Redhandpoker and dont forget to tell your freinds and claim that $100 prize, and once you both have that just enter RED200 in the bonus window at the cashier for a further $200 sign up bonus!

Marketing and the $1Million ladder

I have been to many meetings with marketing gurus over the last few weeks but I have recently been to a "Webinar", I am not sure if you have ever been involved in one of these and on the basis that you haven't (apologies to all webinar pros) I will tell you how it went.
I was invited to the webinar by a marketing company and duly accepted especially as it was a free webinar and believe me there is not much free where marketing is concerned, I was told that the whole thing would be conducted over the web via web cam and that I would have the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the lecturers etc.

This in it's self posed the first question "What to wear?", usually I sit in my office, as I am sure most people do, in jeans and a top but here I was about to be involved in a "Webinar" involving On-line Poker companies from all over the world, their legal teams and speakers with experience in Federal Law and Gaming Law etc, so I didn't want to be the one sat in a Darth Vader Tee shirt in an office that looks a bit like a rubbish tip, so I began the clean up.
I checked the view on the web cam and cleared the area behind my desk that would be in the shot, this involved moving a filing cabinet and various box files, books, printers and my prized possession, my golf clubs!, I then cleared the stack of chips from my desk that I play with when I need inspiration as well as the KFC wrapper from the days earlier twister meal. So with my office rearranged and sporting a crisply ironed shirt I sat in front of my PC ready for the webinar to begin confident in the fact that I would not embarrass myself or the company, I logged on and soon after a voice said,
"We will be starting in 3 minutes"
With anticipation I waited three long minutes and then finally it began, I was eager to see what my competitors actually looked like in the flesh and weather I would recognise anybody but to my dismay the screen was filled with bullet points and text, this carried on throughout the whole two hours of "webinar" where i was pretty much boared stupid by a monotone voice that really didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know.
I think that the lesson to be learnt here is that there is nothing to do with marketing that is free and who cares about the Darth Vader Tee shirt any way, it is pretty cool after all.
So back to work and things seem to be moving all the time, we are currently running an "invite a friend" promotion that's worth $100, $50 for you and $50 for your Friend. We are also running tournaments every hour with free rolls and sit and go's, Grab a Grand as well as a massive $1Million ladder, This series is composed of 9 steps ultimately culminating in a unbelievable $1 Million prize pool, It does beg the question what would you do with $1Million, well my advise would be not to tell anybody in marketing that you have it!.

Thanks for reading and if you haven't already come and see us at http://www.redhandpoker.com/ and invite some friends and lets play. You can follow this blog or share and invite other friends and we would love it if you would, you can also leave a comment at the bottom of the blog or e-mail us at info@redhandpoker.com we would love to hear from you.

Next time I must tell you all about our shuffler system it's awesome !

Thanks again

Hi,

Well another exciting week at http://www.redhandpoker.com/ One of our players won a seat on the Mexican Rivera Cruise, which means that they competed in a tournament and won their place on board an all expenses paid cruise in Mexico and as if that wasn't enough they have also won a place at the table in the Mexican Poker Tour, this trip is worth over $3000,oo and will be an eye opener for any poker player.

Well that's the good news, now on to other bits, I have had a meeting this week with a marketing company and it is their belief that at REDHAND we should be sponsoring sporting events rather than place ads in the tabloid press or magazines. As a result of this I have today had meetings with a football club with a view to sponsorship of some kind. I believe that this could work well for http://www.redhandpoker.com/ as we would be getting the name out there to an audience that fits into the poker playing demographic, as well as watching a bit of first class football and having some fun !

I have managed to find a way to get some screen shots onto the Blog so that you can see what the tables look like and the lobby etc.

Above is a shot of the lobby, this is where you can check your balance and select either practice chips or real money games, you can also select what type of game for example "Texas hold Em" or "7 Card Stud" etc etc you can then deiced weather you will be playing "No Limit" or "Fixed Limit" and what price table you wish to play at.

Once you have decided you then go to the table selected,

The table above is a 6 seater "Texas Hold Em" table, one thing I like to do here is roll the pointer over the players name and this will then tell you where they are from in the world. You will notice after a while the other players playing style and don't forget that once you arrive at a table you do not have to take a seat, you can just watch them playing to get an idea of their playing styles.

Well i hope you like the Blog and please drop me a line at info@redhandpoker.com i would genuinely like to hear from you and have your thoughts on the site.

Bye for now!

Welcome.

Hi There,

This is my Blog and it is all about our Journey to get our On line Poker Site up and running . The site is called http://www.redhandpoker.com/ and we offer a full Poker card room where players can log on and play poker against players from all over the world for real cash as well as for free, there are tournaments running all the time, 24 hours a day, as well as special offers and player bonus wins.
As you have no doubt gathered the site is live although traffic has been slow and I will now explain how we got here.
Four years ago I looked into the option of forming an on line casino and very quickly learnt that this was going to be tough, what with all the legislation and the demise of the UK Gaming Board and the forming of the new Gambling Commission, this in itself posted lots of problems and to top it all there was the Labour government of the day who had been led to believe that gambling was going to be the saviour of modern England and we should have casinos on every street corner. The British government deiced that they had to clean up this "On Line Gambling" and opted to allow sites to move to the UK and comply with a list of rules outlined by the government and in return the British government would charge a huge tax rate but give them a BS Kite mark that would be posted on the site to prove that they were compliant with UK law. This didn't seem such a good deal for the gaming companies as the rules led out by the Government were actually what the companies were already abiding by and the tax rates in other countries were much more reasonable, so all the On Line Sites based here in the UK left for Malta, Gibraltar and such like, not to forget this was not just the Poker and Casino sites but due to the new higher rate of tax suggested by the DCMS but also the on line bookmakers joined the exodus as well.
So as you can imagine my job of setting up an online site suddenly became a little harder.
I operate land based Adult gaming centers in the UK and am licenced with the Gambling Commission in the UK, we also comply as a licensing condition with social awareness and the three main licencing conditions of the 2005 gaming act,
1) Preventing Gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime.
2)Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way.
3)Protecting children and other venerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
We are a responsible company and pride ourselves on our operation, so I felt that for us On line was the direction in which our business should go.
I put funds aside for marketing and began my quest to set up the site, I very quickly found a company in Malta that were willing to host our site but at the provisional meetings it became clear that all my knowledge of the gaming industry, that I had worked in all my life both in the UK and abroad, was neither here nor there this was going to be an IT and marketing exercise. I contacted a friend of mine who is involved in IT and offered him a percentage of the company if he would become involved, he agreed and we began developing the site and I was off to Malts to get the correct gaming licence. One thing I wanted was slot machines and casino games on the site, however this proved difficult as by this time America had outlawed on line gambling sites and they would not allow American citizens to play. Although this did not seem to make much difference to me from what I was learning the American market was massive and the hope was that in the future they would relax their laws therefore it would be better to operate a Poker site and allow everyone to play including Americans, this would allow us to market the site in the US and when and if the US laws were relaxed we could add the casino games at a later date, thus redhandpoker was born.
I had put a considerable amount of money aside for marketing for when the site was ready to go live, however there were delays, the network we were joining were merging with another network and this all took time, there were hosting issues and this all took time and while all this was going on we were all heading for the worst financial collapse the world had seen since the great depression.
As a result of the financial collapse business in my land based AGC's plummeted as did all gaming revenues worldwide, so the money I had put aside for marketing was used up to keep our business afloat. I was now in a position where I have 18 staff who all have mortgages and commitments and I had to keep the land based side of the business, our only business, going at all costs and we have done this. We have had to make a lot of cutbacks, this did not include staff losses as we worked together to ensure everyone kept their job, but never the less it has not been a great time. Very slowly our business is getting back to where it once was and I am sure that it will be better and stronger in the coming months.
During this time our site went live, as you can imagine my time was pre occupied with keeping and recovering our business so I had no time to dedicate to the new online venture and the money I had put aside for marketing was gone. The site went live on December 20th and by the 27th it had crashed, I am pleased to say that all the problems were ironed out and on January 7th 2010 http://www.redhandpoker.com/ was up and running without a hitch.
Since this date the site has been updated weekly although we are changing that to daily to give our clients more of a feel of what is going on with Tournaments, Bonus giveaways and competitions.
On line poker from an operators point of view is good in that we do not pay the winner, all the players sit at a table and play with their money against each other and when one wins the funds are immediately transferred to that player and the house take a small percentage for supplying the table/card room and site, this percentage is displayed on every table so that every player can see it and is very competitive compared with our competitors. when players deposit cash it goes into their "wallet" and when they cash out it is paid directly back to their card or bank account which ever they prefer. Redhand do not hold any details at all, our cash handling is carried out by Money Booker's, net teller, Western Union, 900pay to name a few and the customer chooses which one, they deposit with the company and then the company you have chosen deposit to your wallet at redhand. On sign up http://www.redhandpoker.com/ will ask for your credit card details, this is only for age verification and no details are held, as a company we must ensure that players are over 18 and credit card is the quickest and most reliable way of doing this as well as being the industry standard.
Our vision for http://www.redhandpoker.com/ is to provide a platform where players can play as well as interact with each other, there is a chat facility where you can talk to other players and learn more about the game. We have a how to play section, which explains the rules and not just Texas hold Em we also have Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo as well as 7 card stud. We run a transparent site and hope in the future to add the full casino suite, we have sit and go tournaments, Freerolls as well as big cash tournaments and at the moment every Sunday you can enter our "Mexican Rivera" tourney where you can win a trip to Mexico on board a cruise ship and be at the Mexican Poker tour worth over $3,000.
We have a lot of plans for http://www.redhandpoker.com/ and hope to grow and develop we are also looking into a not for profit affiliate which would enable players to play and donate to charities at the same time!

Please take a look at the site and let us know what you think by contacting us at info@redhandpoker.com I look forward to your comments.

Thanks for reading
